“I knew Elisabeth's wonderful parents but had never actually met her until she shared her miraculous survival story to our staff at Advancing Native Missions. We had all heard about her shark attack through her parents and were praying diligently for her for many months so when we had the opportunity to have her share her story with our staff we jumped on it. It was a blessed time of fellowship.
We were all mesmerized by her story as she took us through the day of the attack from the serene moments on the beach with her family before the attack, to the harrowing surreal shark attack that occurred just yards from the shore, to the heroic efforts of those medical personnel surrounding her on the beach to save her life and then the year of healing through follow up surgeries and rehabilitation. We recognized that Elisabeth was a walking miracle standing in front of us. It was obvious to us that every moment had been supernaturally ordained by God and He has a great plan and purpose for her life.
If you want to be inspired by a true God story I recommend you invite Elisabeth to speak to your group. I actually had the opportunity to hear her speak again soon afterwards at another venue. Her story was so intriguing I decided to go and I wasn't disappointed.

Elisabeth Foley’s testimony is a powerful reminder of the grace, perseverance, and faithfulness of our God. Elisabeth shares her story with such a quiet strength, fully giving God the glory for each life-saving detail of that fateful day on the beach. Students and adults alike will be reminded that even in the darkest valley, our God is able to rescue. Our students found such inspiration for their daily walk, knowing that just because God doesn’t eliminate every obstacle, doesn’t mean that He isn’t with you every step, every breath of the way! Even our toughest days can be used for our good and His glory, God works ALL things for the good!
